Learn to appreciate good poetry

My wife keeps
telling me
that what I am
writing
is no poetry.

Because it does not have
any rhythm. Just a story
spread over a number of lines.

Maybe not even a story
but the beginning of
something.

Well, it is poetry
to me. It might even be
ugly, but I don't
give a damn since
I enjoy writing it
a lot.

These crippled lines
keep me in
balance.
